Nokia N97 Widgets, Ada Bawaan dan Ada yang Tambahan
Nokia N97 Widgets adalah aplikasi Web yang sebelumnya terpisah dan tidak menjadi aplikasi dari Nokia N97, tetapi dapat digunakan setelah diinstal pada Nokia N97. Dengan menggunakan widgets tersebut maka akses internet untuk memperoleh layanan dan konten secara online dapat dilakukan dengan sekali klik.
Widgets yang tampil di atas layar sentuh Nokia N97 tidak berbeda dengan ikon pada layar PC yang memberi petunjuk untuk membuka suatu program yang diperlukan. Widgets dimaksudkan untuk mengganti keterangan dalam bentuk tulisan agar tidak memerlukan banyak tempat dan bisa dimengerti oleh setiap orang yang terkendala oleh perbedaan bahasa. Dengan gambar kecil yang mencerminkan sebuah aplikasi, maka Widgets bersifat universal karena lebih mudah dipahami oleh setiap orang.
Selain berbagai widgets yang bisa ditambahkan dari Ovi Strore, pada Nokia N97 secara default sudah dilengkapi beberapa widgets standar yang bisa dimunculkan ke permukaan layar untuk memudahkan penggunaannya.
Beberapa widgets standar yang sudah terinstal pada nokia n97 adalah
- Profil, untuk menyusun dan mengubah profil sesuai kondisi.
- Jam, untuk mengelola jam dan alarm
- Kalendar, untuk mengatur aktivitas Anda.
- Cara pintas, untuk memilih cara pintas dari perangkat konten yang akan ditampilkan di layar awal.
- Facebook, untuk memperbarui status dan mengikuti perkembangan berita dari teman-teman dan relasi.
- Widget Email, untuk menerima e-mail di layar awal.
- Widget Kontak Favorit, untuk berkomunikasi dengan orang-orang tertentu melalui kontak yang diatur secara khusus, sehingga kontak dapat dilakukan secara cepat
- Widget Berbagi secara online, untuk berbagi media secara online.
- Umpan RSS, untuk secara langsung menerima umpan RSS pilihan di layar awal.
- Pemutar musik/Radio, untuk mengontrol pemutar musik.
- YouTube, untuk mencari dan mengakses upload YouTube terbaru.
- Boingo, untuk memungkinkan roaming Wi-Fi global.
Widgets yang bisa ditambahkan pada Nokia N97 selain dari Ovi Store, juga dari pihak ketiga sepanjang kompatibel dengan Nokia N97. Tetapi umumnya, widget yang terdapat di Ovi Store merupakan widget terbaik dan paling kompatibel untuk digunakan Nokia N97.
