Kini hampir setiap bulan diluncurkan cell phone baru dengan berbagai inovasi yang bertujuan untuk memberikan pelayanan dan kepuasan maksimal kepada konsumen. Dalam sejarah telepon, semakin luas jaringan telepon maka akan semakin banyak konsumennya.
Pada tahun-tahun mendatang, cell phone akan menjadi alat komunikasi yang mutlak diperlukan oleh setiap penduduk dunia. Karena itu, kebutuhan cell phone menjadi pasar potensial yang akan terus berkembang. Kondisi seperti ini menjadi tambang emas bagi produsen, hanya masalahnya bagaimana cara menggali tambang tersebut dengan menguasai bagian terbesar masyarakat menjadi konsumen terhadap produk mereka.
Akibatnya, setiap produsen selain harus melakukan inovasi secara terus menerus, juga harus bisa meningkatkan pelayanan dan menjaga agar harga sebuah cell phone tidak lebih mahal dengan produk sejenis yang beredar di pasaran. Dalam sejarah telepon, kemajuan berbagai bidang ilmu yang diaplikasikan dalam produk cellphone juga memberikan sumbangan besar untuk percepatan penyempurnaan cellphone.
Bandingkan dengan perkembangan telepon sejak Alexander Graham Bell memperoleh hak paten atas penemuannya itu di tahun 1876 sampai pada tahun 1940-an. Telepon mengalami perkembangan yang sangat lambat baik dari segi teknologi, disain dan pemasarannya.
Saat itu orang tidak bisa membayangkan bagaimana canggihnya cellphone di jaman ini. Sama halnya dengan kita tidak akan bisa membayangkan bagaimana perkembangan teknologi cell phone sepuluh tahun lagi.
Meskipun demikian kita tidak akan bisa melecehkan disain dan teknologi telepon yang terdapat dalam galery ini. Karena mereka adalah leluhur cellphone yang Anda gunakan saat ini. Saya cukup lama mencari dan mengumpulkannya untuk dapat menyusun secara kronologis dari tahun ke tahun. Mereka kini pantas disebut sebagai benda-benda keramat !
Beginilah bentuk Liquid Phone yang merupakan Telepon pertama Graham Bell. Mekanismenya menggunakan cairan untuk mengubah getaran menjadi impuls listrik. Pada perkembangan selanjutnya lahirlah Shoe Box, telepon yang pertama kali dikomersialkan. Shoe Box hanya terdiri dari satu lubang untuk digunakan berbicara dan sekaligus mendengarkan.
Selanjutnya Telepon mulai berkembang dari tahun ke tahun seperti yang dapat didokumentasikan ini.
Perkembangan telepon selanjutnya tak akan berubah dari bentuk terakhir itu. Kecuali dengan hadirnya telepon tanpa kabel atau telepon genggam yang kini populer disebut cell phone, tak hanya industri telepon kabel yang porak poranda, gaya hidup manusia pun turut berubah dengan dicirikan mobilitas yang lebih tinggi dan banyak kenyamanan dalam berkomunikasi.
Hanya belum diketahui, berapa besar dampak radiasi cell phone terhadap sel-sel otak manusia dan pengaruhnya terhadap peradaban, terutama hubungan antar individu di kalangan manusia.
